FAQ and song recommendations

To all my brides/grooms/wedding planners in the NYC and NJ area, stress no more when it comes to picking your musician! The harp creates such a romantic and calming atmosphere, perfect for your special day. Feel free to contact me for any specific questions, but please refer to the general FAQ below first.

  • How do I start the process of connecting with you?

Please contact me through the page on my site, or reach out via email or phone. (sophia.harplover@gmail.com - 757-372-7627)

  • Will I need to sign an official contract?

Yes, once you are ready to start the process, I will send you a contract that will include everything from price, agreements on cartage fees, location, and pieces.

  • Do you only play ceremonies?

Preludes and ceremonies are my favorite part of any wedding, but if requested I can also play during cocktail hour for an additional fee.

  • Are your fees negotiable?

My fees for all ceremonies/cocktail hours are set, just to keep everything organized, but the cartage fee can be discussed and possibly negotiated.

  • How long do you play prelude?

I will start playing prelude 20-25 minutes before the start time for the ceremony, depending on when guests start arriving.

  • Would you start playing early or late if requested?

Yes, but after the day is over, I will reach out to discuss any additional fees I feel may be needed.

  • Do you play with other musicians?

If you have another instrumentalist or vocalist that you would love to also be a part of your day, we will need to be connected as soon as possible. If a rehearsal is required, an additional fee will be agreed upon.

  • Can I request any song even if it’s not on your list?

Yes, if there is enough time for me to learn the piece before the wedding day. If I can’t find sheet music for free, the price of the music would need to be covered.

  • Can I pick any piece from your recommendation list?

All the songs listed below are pieces I have prepared and ready to go! You will need to select pieces for processional and recessional, and that will be listed on your contract.

  • Why do you have recommendations for satire pieces?

You’d be surprised how many requests I get for funny/ironic songs! Every couple has a vision for their day, and sometimes that can include a fun sense of humor for them and their guests.
